An American independent video developer company named Mob Entertainment developed and published this video game named Poppy Playtime. As a player, you take over the role of an ex-company employee of Playtime Co., a toy-making company. In the game, you get inside a toy factory where a staff went missing almost a decade ago. The player plays the game as a first-person and navigates through the game by solving puzzles often using gadgets called as GrabPack. While playing you require to dodge the enemies as well who try to hinder your search.
The first season or Chapter of Poppy Playtime got released on 12 October, 2021. The distributor was Steam and it was for Microsoft Windows. Later on, by March 2022 the game became available for Android and iOS too. The first chapter is named as “A Tight Squeeze”.
The second Chapter of Poppoy Playtime- Fly in a Web got released on 5th May 2022 first for the Windows. Later it was released for the Android and iOS on 15th August 2022. The third season or Chapter of the indie-video game is in pipeline and will release sometime in 2023.
The storyline of Poppy Playtime:
If we go by the plot, the game is somewhat a horror-thriller. The player recieves a mysterious package that contains a video tape. At the beginning the video it seems to be the commercial for the doll, Poppy Playtime. Though halfway to the video it becomes a message and the player enters the factory and the game begins.
The player goes through several locks and rooms attaining a GrabPack and utilising it. Meanwhile, also getting chased by a Huggy Wuggy. Finally the player find the room where Poppy is encaged and frees her to end the game. This was all about what happened in Chapter one of the game series.
Moving onto the second chapter of Poppy Playtime, the game resumes where the storyline ended in the first season. The player explores the back walls of the factory and eventually comes across the office of the founder of the company, Elliot Ludwig. Poppy also comes to the rescue and help the player to activate the factory train. The player then encounters the Mommy Long Legs and has to defeat her to ascend in the gameplay.
As the player further solves the mysteries in the game Poppy makes them stay in the game where the factory train goes out of control and we see it going towards a palce called “Playcare”.
